In this episode…

When it comes to selling and advertising on Amazon, there are numerous strategies and tools to optimize sales growth, so it can be tricky to determine the best path forward. Today’s guest offers valuable tips and shares what to avoid when maximizing growth on the platform.

Amazon selling and advertising expert Kevin Sanderson warns against capitalizing on every recommendation you receive from others, as it can lead to contradictions and impede business growth. Instead, he advises specializing in one strategy, such as PPC or ChatGPT, to control business outcomes and provide exceptional shopping experiences. Additionally, if you want to diversify your product offerings, it’s essential to understand Amazon’s rules and regulations to avoid account deactivation. For instance, instead of incentivizing reviews or manipulating Amazon’s algorithms, you should place customers on an email list and leverage Amazon-sanctioned support to ensure your products reach your audience and entice satisfied shoppers to leave positive reviews.

In this episode of What The Teck?, Rolando Rosas and Dave Kelly talk with Kevin Sanderson, the Founder of Maximizing Ecommerce, about how to optimize your Amazon business. Kevin explains why Amazon sellers should specialize in one area, when to send external traffic to Amazon, and his thoughts on influencer product marketing.

Sometimes people stretch themselves way too thin, because they’re trying to do everything that they heard about in a blog post, or in a virtual summit or in a YouTube video. And at the end of the day, it’s better to pick some things and go really deep on them, test them out, make them work than to try to be average, at best at everything.

Rolando Rosas 0:24

So be a specialist, I hear you saying, going deep on it, figure it out, see how you can really leverage it for your business instead of 20 different things that you’re going to spread yourself and probably not be an expert in. Yeah, exactly.

Kevin Sanderson 0:37

Or tools. Sometimes people will sign up for a tool, thinking the tool is going to solve all of their problems. XYZ software tool, I don’t want to pick on any of them. Because it’s really more of the mindset of us using it. It comes down to pick the tool, figure out how to use that tool and give it months. But sometimes, and I’ve been guilty of this over the years of you hearing a podcast, someone’s like, this is going to revolutionize whatever like oh my god, I gotta sign up for that, get the 14 day trial. Here’s my credit card. I’m gonna be with it and then realize two months later, like, I don’t know that I’ve ever really looked at this
