In this episode…

With cryptocurrency gaining traction in the stock market, many people want to capitalize on its financial benefits. So, what does this digital currency entail, and what should you consider before investing?

Crypto is a decentralized form of currency that does not rely on third-party mediation from banks or other government entities. It uses automation to process multiple transactions almost instantly and can be traded digitally. NFTs also transfer value, but unlike crypto, they are individually verified intellectual property and can’t be exchanged. Both digital assets exist within the blockchain, a secure distributed database that stores a record of transactions. While cryptocurrency and NFTs allow for financial freedom, they can also be regulated and banned by individual governments.

In today’s episode of What The Teck?, Rolando Rosas and Dave Kelly sit down with Adam Mastrelli, Partner at Woodstock Fund, to discuss cryptocurrency, NFTs, and blockchain. Adam talks about the evolution of the internet, tokenizing and decentralized finance, and the capabilities, benefits, and risks of smart contracts and automated transactions.

Hello, and welcome back to another episode of What The Teck? What up? What? How’s it going?

Dave Kelly 0:24

Man? It’s good. I’ll tell you that music still puts me in a good mood. I’m sure it’ll eventually wear thin. But I like that gig.

Rolando Rosas 0:32

I love it. I love it. And I want to thank Henri for picking that out, you know, he’s doing a fabulous job with us, behind the scenes in the cloud and everything else. So shout outs for doing a great job. You know, Dave, today, we’ve got some stuff that is on lots of people’s mind, regarding crypto and crypto currencies, Blockchain, and we’ve got folks making loads of money selling these NF T’s these non fungible tokens. And I saw as of this morning, too, and another big thing that’s happening is that Tom Brady is getting a group together with some serious heavyweights behind the NF Ts, and he’s starting his own company, not in itself, but it’s a group of heavy hitters in the digital world to put out these NF T’s. So when you have these, Tom Brady’s No, no, no, he’s to somebody, right? So he’s pouring a lot of money, not that it’s a guarantee that he’s gonna make a load of money. But the folks that are on the board, and that are part of this group are some heavy hitters within the within the business world, so so there’s more ammunition for NF t’s going forward. So I’m sure he can put out a lot of different special collector’s items along with other digital assets, that would be a value.

Dave Kelly 1:56

It’s going to be awesome. You know, every single day, I’m learning something new about the topic. I have conversations with people recently, you know, saying, Hey, I had mentioned something about this upcoming show and our special guest. And they said, You know what, this is something that I need to tune into, I need to learn more about this. And I said, you should definitely join them because we have an expert that joined us. That’s joining us,

Rolando Rosas 2:20

Adam, Mastrelli, he’ll be joining us. He’s in the green room right now. He’ll be joining us in a little bit. So let’s go right into it. Alright, let’s go right into the trivia question. You want to do this? Do you want me to do it?

Dave Kelly 2:35

I will do this. You know, what’s really funny? When I look at this, I’m looking at the picture on the left hand side pretty darn close to this masterpiece.

Rolando Rosas 2:43

Do you think we can probably get that as an NFA?

Dave Kelly 2:48

Well, if we can even get close to what the VINCI painting self sold for, then I think we should definitely give it a try. So I’ll, I’ll take the lead on this. So you know, the question is real simple. A lot of you might recognize this picture, this painting from Leonardo da Vinci. So this sold at auction? What did it sell for 2060 235? Or $450? million? I don’t know the answer, I guess it could, for me, 20,000,400 and 50 million, it’s all the same. It’s all the same. I can’t spend it all.

Rolando Rosas 3:24

It’s a lot of dough to go back and revisit

Dave Kelly 3:27

that

Rolando Rosas 3:28

I could, I could think of a lot of ways what I could do with either any one of those amounts.

Dave Kelly 3:34

That’d be fun. That would be fun.

Rolando Rosas 3:37

Well, we’ll get we’ll have to see if we could put up that that graphic that that little thing that he’s got on there. They’ve got that guy up for sale, too on and we’ll have to talk about it offline. All right, see what we could get for it. All right. So let me tell you a little bit about Adam before he comes on. Adam Mastrelli Is he leads a sales team at IBM that’s in the digital assets and banking solutions group. They work with institutions regarding exchange wallets, tokenization solutions, securing private key management. And he’s also worked on other big projects in the past like IBM Watson’s. He’s worked in the blockchain lab services, and the blockchain ventures, sidenote. Adam is a great emcee. I’ve had the opportunity of seeing them up close and did a little bit of a gig myself with him a couple of years ago. So Adam, if you decide to go into emcee full time, I’m sure there’ll be lots of corporate gigs that you could do as well as weddings, and bar mitzvahs. So without further ado, let’s bring on Adam Mastrelli.
